Health Equity and COVID-19: AJAPO and refugee and immigrant populations in the Pittsburgh region

Block Chronicles featured Dr. Yinka Aganga-Williams, Executive Director and Alysia Davis, Secretary, Board of Directors, for AJAPO, Acculturation for Justice, Access and Peace Outreach; an organization focused on providing support to refugees and immigrants in the Greater Pittsburgh Region and Allegheny County. We discussed their ongoing work and the critical ways in which they are supporting refugee and immigrant communities during this current COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Yinka Aganga-Williams is originally from Nigeria and co-founder for AJAPO and have been the executive director for over 14 years. Alysia Davis is the Secretary of the Board of Directors for AJAPO and is currently working at the Allegheny County Health Department as the Equity and Special Project Coordinator within the Maternal and Child Health Program.
