Pittsburgh Latinx Artist Residency (P-LAR)
Updated: Nov 26, 2021
Block Chronicles in collaboration with Casa San José have developed the Pittsburgh Latinx Artist Residency (P-LAR) for new and emerging Latinx artists. The program is open to adults 18 and older residing in Allegheny County and who self-identify as Latinx. Participants will receive support in artist development, mentorship, a monthly stipend and an opportunity to apply for funding to develop a new project. Five artists will be selected without limitations on the genre or type of art or expression. Founder, Dr. Jason Méndez shares, “the program was designed to help Latinx artists establish a sustainable career as creatives and building a community of support and mentorship. But this was also developed to allow for us to dig deeper in the stories we tell as artists. For additional information, please visit https://www.blockchronicles.com/p-lar or contact andreap@casasanjose.org
THE APPLICATION IS OPEN FRIDAY, AUGUST 13, 2021 TO MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2021 (11:59 pm EST)
